It is no doubt that becoming a mother is a life changing and amazing experience for most women, but this joy also comes with a price. Several studies conducted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons have revealed that 60 percent of women turn to plastic surgery in order to get their pre-pregnancy body back. Unfortunately, pregnancy can take a toll on a woman’s body altering the appearance of her breasts and abdomen. Some of the most common correctional procedures women choose are breast augmentations, breast lifts, and tummy tucks.
Plastic surgeons have devised a procedure that combines all these surgeries, more commonly known as the mommy makeover. One of the newer procedures that has become increasingly popular among mothers is varicose vein treatment. After having children, the veins become affected and varicosities start to develop and become much more visible. When it comes to the mommy makeover procedure, doctors have realized that this treatment has become just as important as any other procedure that is incorporated in the mommy makeover.
Studies show that a rough 20 million women with varicose veins are predisposed because of genetics. While women are pregnant, the uterus increases in size and there is more pressure on the vena cava causing increased pressure on the leg veins. The increase of pressure on the venous system, while a woman in pregnant causes an increase in the chance of getting varicose veins. Fortunately, doctors have found non-surgical and surgical treatments to improve the appearance of varicose veins and make a woman’s legs look healthier and more attractive.
